This could be worse.

It's bound to be better than the last bar I was at, anyway - speaking of, stay away from the Gliese system, kids. They aren't very friendly there. I've had better service in the Silver Devastation; and the hypervodka was watered down. Huge disappointment.

So I guess this is a fresh fresh start. Captain Jack Harkness, at your service. I'll be a warden here for a while. Now, who wants to start the introductions? I've got all the time in the world.

Of course. [The Doctor reached into his pockets and pulled out a small white bad. Undoing the top, he handed Jack two or three jelly babies.] There you go!

[Jack held out his hand and arched an eyebrow at the gummies. They were actually...babies. He held one up, staring.] Well. That's weird.

Weird how? [Yep, the Doctor's totally eating some.]

They're actually babies. It's weirdly disconcerting. [But he's eating one anyway.]

But quite delicious.

Well, that's true. [And another one disappears.]

[The Doctor ate another one also.] You know what's good with jelly babies? Ginger beer.

[He reached into his pocket and pulled out a bottle of ginger beer. Don't ask how.] Here you go.

How'd you do that? [He couldn't really help that. Sorry Doc.]

Do what? [Innocent little smile~]

[...Well okay, that's adorable at least. He takes the bottle and opens it, taking a drink.] The bottle. Didn't think your pocket was that big.

I have no idea what you're talking about. [He says as he pulls a bottle of ginger beer out of his pocket for himself.]

[Which makes Jack snort into his ginger beer.] Of course not! It must be in my head.

[And now the Doctor's looking at you really serious.] You might want to get that checked out. Head injuries can quickly turn deadly.

That's not really something I'm worried about.

Now why do you say that? You're not a Time Lord, you can't regenerate.

No, I can't. [The Doctor had abandoned him on the Game Station because he was a fixed point; maybe telling this Doctor about that wasn't the greatest idea.]

So naturally you should be worried about head wounds. [And he takes another sip of ginger beer.]

I guess I should be. [Now, how many times had he died of a head wound? That was a fine question...]

And yet you aren't. Which either means that you're remarkably stupid or that there's something special about you, Captain Jack Harkness. [The Doctor looked him over, small smile on his face.]

Well, they did always call me special. [He's getting pretty good at this avoidance thing.]

[The Doctor smirked slightly. He put both hands up to his forehead, after setting the ginger beer on the ground.] Fortunately, telepathic contact will show just how special you are.

[The Doctor closed his eyes. There was a pause, and then he opened them again.] You are special. There's nothing in there. It's like looking at a closed door.

[He opened his mouth to object, but, well. If it was anything like that stone of Tosh's...Jack shrugged.] Nice metaphor.

It is, isn't it? I quite like it. [The Doctor smiled, looking at Jack] So, how else are you special?

I bet you do. [Jack smirked around the bottle of ginger beer as he took another drink.] Well, I'm a crack shot, I have a fabulous ass, and I'm a pretty good dancer if I do say so myself.

If you say so. [That's all he was going to say about that ass comment.]
