This could be worse.

It's bound to be better than the last bar I was at, anyway - speaking of, stay away from the Gliese system, kids. They aren't very friendly there. I've had better service in the Silver Devastation; and the hypervodka was watered down. Huge disappointment.

So I guess this is a fresh fresh start. Captain Jack Harkness, at your service. I'll be a warden here for a while. Now, who wants to start the introductions? I've got all the time in the world.

[A grin shot across his face and he shrugged a little in return.] Probably. You could have agreed with my dancing capabilities, at least.

[Now that got a smile from the Doctor] You dance? What types?

[Huh. He really does have a great smile all the time.] All types! Gotta love a good foxtrot, though.

Wonderful! [With that, the Doctor sets down the bottle of ginger beer and assumes the proper position for fox trot.] Shall we dance?

[Occasionally, he missed those days traveling with the Doctor. Well, more often than occasionally. But at least here, there were little things to remind him of it. Grinning, Jack put down his bottle and stepped forward.] Absolutely. You want to lead?

If you don't mind, I'd love to lead. [The Doctor started dancing, humming a little fox trot ditty.] A pity that K-9 isn't here. He could provide music.

[And lead he did, because Jack had this little habit of following the Doctor all over.] He's got a music function? That's one special dog.

He's got a lot of functions. He's a very useful dog.

Extremely useful. Wish I could have seen him at work more.

Oh, don't worry, you can still do that. I've got K-9 with me!

Really? Excellent! My life needs more K-9 in it.

Feel free to stop by the TARDIS anytime. Or, the next time I visit, I can bring him here. Watch out, I'm about to spin you. [And so he does!]

[What a considerate dancing partner! Jack spins like he was born to do it. All in the hips.] Sounds fantastic, Doctor.

I think I missed my calling in life. Well. There's always time to take it up.

[BIG DUMB OBLIVIOUS GRIN.] That and wardening. You can't forget wardening. Though, perhaps you could teach your inmate to dance!
