This could be worse.

It's bound to be better than the last bar I was at, anyway - speaking of, stay away from the Gliese system, kids. They aren't very friendly there. I've had better service in the Silver Devastation; and the hypervodka was watered down. Huge disappointment.

So I guess this is a fresh fresh start. Captain Jack Harkness, at your service. I'll be a warden here for a while. Now, who wants to start the introductions? I've got all the time in the world.

[The visual feed follows a moment later, following a suspiciously familiar sonic whirring sound. He pops up from the floor, hair and tee shirt mussed, all smiles and enthusiasm]

DOCTOR! Wait - are you the Doctor, or the Donna-Doctor?

The Doctor, Meta-Crisis. Doctor's a Doctor.

[Yes, it is that important to him to be classed as such.]

Already seducing your new bargemates, I see. Have any time in your busy schedule of romping about to see an old acquaintance?

I've tea, dubious Valentine's sweets and a hug.

Got it. It's going to be a hell of a time, calling all of you Doctor.

I think I can make the time. And I'll take the hug, the sweets, and the tea, in that order. Where are you?

[Does a halfish-not-really-a-salute to his old friend.]

[Pft have a real salute - and then Jack is scurrying off right on up to the Doctor's room to knock on his door.]

[Jack's quick. Should've remembered that. The Doctor had been in the midst of knotting his tie, which is forgotten immediately when he offers the other man a cheeky grin, eyes alight.]

Ohh, brace yourself, mate.

[One-armed back-pats are for sissies. He prefers bear hugs.]

[They are absolutely for sissies, and there's nothing quite like getting a bear hug from the Doctor. Even the paper thin Doctor. Jack laughed out loud and grinned over the other man's shoulder, hugging him back tightly.]

Oh, it's good to see you, Doctor.
